Preparatory Text 6
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end, amen. This might be the last preparatory text before the next Project of Revelation is written and published. So in this text, I aim to write about the general framework of reality as based from the truth of God and creation. Reality is one, but can be divided into 2 objects in the end, that is necessary reality and contingent reality. Necessary reality is also known as God, while the contingent reality is known as the universe, creation, or the world.
For any particular
reality can only be in one particular state, then there can only be one
necessary reality, one God, and so only one contingent reality, that is one
universe. However, there is technically more than just 1 contingent reality, as
the single contingent reality is a composite, it is composed of many simpler
contingencies. Those contingencies are also composed as every contingent
reality is a composition. For the very least, a contingent object is the
composite of God, that is Existence, and an essence, which some people say is
non-existence.
Now while the nature
of God is generally known, the nature of contingent reality is more difficult
to ascertain. We only know that God and the universe are kind of opposites. God
is one, the universe contains many, God is simple, the universe is not, God is
necessary, the universe is not, and various other differences. For example, we
know that God is necessarily infinite awareness and so there is a union between
existence and awareness in God. However, does the same apply to the universe? Is
the universe composite between awareness and existence, or does it possess the
same union as in God?
Such problems are undetermined
and it is possible we may never know. However, it is clear that the proposition
of “Non-aware object” that is an object which is pure matter without any
awareness in it, does not contradict the logical law. Now if the universe were
to be wholly awareness, it would imply that there is a single being of the
universe, a so called universal soul. Yet this would go against the
presupposition of other souls. Other souls means that there is not only one
soul in this universe, but there is really many souls, truly distinct and
separate from each other. This would imply that the universe is a common object
accessible by these souls and the souls are at the same time part of the common
object, they can access each other.
However, what is clear
is what happens when a soul perceives or is aware of a particular object, there
is a certain union between that soul and the object. As the soul is a being of
awareness, its union is primarily through awareness as well. Yet the soul which
primarily refers to human beings, are hylomorphs. They possess a material and
an immaterial aspect to them. The body is itself an object of awareness, even
if the primary object of awareness is the soul, the body being united to the
soul becomes an object of awareness as well. Now, the human is not God even
over their own existences. We can forget things and thus lose knowledge of
parts of ourselves. So there are aspects which we may not know of ourselves
which nonetheless still contributes to our being. Therefore the human reality
is evidence that an object may be composite of both awareness and non-awareness
and yet still be a coherent object. For that reason, we may possess union by
both aware and non-aware means.
The aware union of
humans happens through the means of knowledge. The non-aware union of humans
happens through the means of unconscious union. I was going to write bodily or
material union, yet the initial union with God, known as sanctifying grace, is not
a bodily union nor is it material. It is a spiritual and immaterial union, yet while
we can know whether we are in a state of union or not, we cannot actually know
that union. Yet there may be a better way to distinguish the unions. There is
real union and perceived union. Perceived union necessitates real union, but
real union may happen without perceived union. This follows the general model
of existence being the cause of awareness, and thus leading to the separation
model.
