Commentary on My Catholic Faith: Divine Tradition

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end, amen. The source of the Faith is Jesus Christ alone, who is the full revelation of the Father. The truths of Christ have been preserved in the Bible and in Tradition. It is written in Scripture in 2 Peter 3:16 that it is difficult to understand Scripture. Therefore help is needed to understand Scripture, given by the same Church which produced the Scriptures in the first place. Tradition is the authoritative teaching of the Church concerning the truths of Jesus Christ. It is developed to be clearer and more explicit over time. The Church defines a truth usually when there is controversy over that truth. Tradition continues until today, temporally new dogmas are not actually new truths, but rather an exposition of what has been revealed since the beginning. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end, amen.
