Sufficient Reasoning

May this work be a channel for the graces of the Holy Spirit to you. When I write things to secure my understanding of God and thus my Faith, I hold a certain principle which I call the principle of Sufficient Reason, or perhaps Sufficient Reasoning. This is of course different from the regular principle of Sufficient Reason which has to do with causation. Sufficient Reasoning is the idea that so long our reasoning leads us to the right conclusions, it does not have to be perfect. As many times God is difficult to understand for our human minds. A reasoning is sufficient if it can sufficiently cause understanding of the Faith and more importantly secure the Faith for myself, even if it is not completely accurate.

This will be my principle in writing various philosophical texts which all point back to God. I do not strive for perfection, I strive for what works for me so I can have a clear vision of what God is and thus have a better Faith. This means if an idea I see is sufficient for explaining the Faith, I will take it and write it, even if it’s not the best objectively. As I have a limited capacity of understanding, I will understand various ideas according to those limitations, as such there has to be some sufficiency of understanding for the satisfaction of the Faith, instead of forcing myself to have the perfect understanding of the Faith, which no man can have until we die. May the Holy Spirit be glorified through this work now and forever.
