Rebellion for God
May this work be a channel of the graces of the Holy Spirit to you. I consider myself to be rather rebellious, that is rebellious against the order of the world. However, I am not normally rebellious against God, though I am a great sinner. For the very least, it is not my complete intention to rebel against God, part of me still desires to bow down to God and His Will. I will not describe my full rebellion against the world, instead I will describe one particular rebellion against the world which oddly enough is done for the sake of love towards God.
I have been told by
some people that “before you write, you must read.” This is the thing which I
am rebelling against, not because I see it as bad, but simply because I prefer
to write along with reading. This rule I am rebelling against in essence says
that I must bow down to other people first before I can make my own ideas. Strangely
enough, I rebel against that rule because I love God. I seek to produce novel
ideas to further illuminate our understanding of God, and it is done to glorify
God, to demonstrate His creative powers and His glory through me as a
manifestation or as His image. The production of new ideas, instead of simply
repeating the ancient form of ideas enriches orthodoxy, as long as it is
consistent with the ancient Word of God.
However, now I obtain
the idea that there is a greater rebellion against the world other than just my
petty rebellion against some established order of thought. To be a follower of
God, a Christian, is to rebel not just against the world, but also against our own
fallen nature. Yet it is mostly not a rebellion by raising up arms, for the
Christian is of peace, but it is a rebellion by not following the order of the
fallen world. The order of the fallen world is hatred, death, and destruction.
However, our ways, the Christian way is of charity, life, and creation. May this
work glorify the Holy Spirit now and forever.
